Applications Engineer required for established manufacturing and engineering client based in Swindon. This is a permanent vacancy, offering an annual salary of £35,000, end of year performance bonus, personal career development plan and plenty of additional employee benefits.
Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who has a solid understanding of scientific and engineering principles, who has achieved HNC/HND Level education in Engineering (Mechanical or Scientific would be acceptable) or similar. Your key responsibilities will include supporting new telecommunications sales and equipment, responding to technical specifications, working through designs, products and maintenance of all products available to a global customer base.
As an Applications Engineer, you will work as part of a wider team, helping to design new electrical and telecommunications products for new customer specifications, able to work with test equipment and assemble mechanical devices. The use of Solidworks CAD software is essential for this role plus advanced working knowledge The Oracle system and MS Office (Excel and Access) for recording and reporting purposes.
Your role will also include the costing of products against customer specifications, producing regular communication and updates to the wider team, working closely with other members of the technical department to achieve common goals and objectives. As an Applications Engineer there is plenty of supporting administration that runs alongside the customer designs and specifications, plus the need to communicate exceptionally well in person, over the telephone and via written correspondence.
