Business Development/ Account Manager

Overview:

The Thrive Group are keen to speak to a successful Business Development / Account Manager to join an experienced team within the manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for a significant existing customer portfolio, including some key accounts, and the development and growth of new business opportunities.

Typical Responsibilities will include:

  • Direct person-to-person Sales Growth/Account Management from existing accounts.
  • Strong focus on identifying new business opportunities, building relationships, and securing new business to grow market share.
  • Be able to examine and understand a customer's design/print requirements and advise the best course of action.
  • Process and control from concept, design, development, implementation and cost control of customer product ranges.
  • To learn an extensive product portfolio and be able to give detailed advice to existing and new customers throughout the sales process.
  • To learn and understanding an extensive range of technical processes and be able to give detailed advice on them.
  • To absorb and understand customer requirements and liaise with internal teams (technical & production) to enable the best offering.
  • Control customer print and label stocks to minimise stock holding whilst maintaining the highest service levels.
  • Must be willing to travel at short notice, including multiple overnight stays where required. Some foreign travel will also be required.

Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications

  • Direct business to business sales and account management experience is essential.
  • New business development success is essential.
  • Be able to build strong customer relationships, manage expectations and possess strong negotiation skills.
  • Must be technically minded, computer literate and be able to multitask.
  • Must be a good lateral thinker/problem solver.
  • Must have strong analytic abilities and strategic thinking.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and able to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Dangerous Goods/UN Certified/ADR Packaging knowledge would be advantageous, but not essential.
