Purchasing Assistant

Job Description

Thrive Group are delighted to be working with our client in Westbury, who are actively seeking to engage a Purchasing Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.

What you will be doing:

As Purchasing Assistant, you will take responsibility for a range of purchasing duties and associated administration :

  • Providing support to the purchasing department including placing orders with suppliers and monitoring / expediting against the production schedule
  • Ensuring a high level of customer service to external and internal customers to develop positive working relationships
  • Administrative assistance to the department including producing a range of documents and reports

What you will need to succeed:

  • An organised and self-motivated approach, with good organisational and numeracy skills
  • A genuine interest in purchasing
  • Commercial acumen and a confident communicator
  • Excellent IT skills including word and excel
  • Exposure to an engineering or manufacturing background beneficial
