We are looking for an Environment Warden to work for a local authority based in Rochdale.
Rate of pay: £11.70 per hour
Assignment: Until January 2023
Hours/Shifts: 8.30am - 16.30pm
Area: Heywood, Rochdale
The Job
To act as the Environmental steward and engage wherever possible with local businesses, and residents to address, at source street scene issues and take any appropriate proactive enforcement, educational, campaign or formal enforcement action in pursuit of statutory duties.
Duties but not limited to
Patrol Rochdale Borough and carry out enforcement procedures primarily under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005, The Highways Act 1980, Control of Pollution Act 1974, Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Refuse Disposal Amenity Act 1978 (Abandoned vehicles), The Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003, The Criminal Justice Public Order Act 1995 and any other relevant legislation or subsequent revision.
Issue fixed penalty notices, either during the course of routine patrols or as a result of a complaint made to the Council, to persons in respect of the above environmental legislation.
Requirements
Must have previous Environment Warden experience
Full UK Driving Licence
Have strong IT Skills, to log any important information on to the internal computer systems
Excellent people skills, being able to talk to the public, clients, colleagues, and other senior professionals.
