Procurement Specialist, permanent carer opportunity based on 37 hours per week, located just outside the beautiful city of Bath. The Procurement team forms part of Finance Operations as well as Accounts Payable, Payroll and Pensions, therefore you have plenty of collaborative professional support plus the benefit of a blended team working environment. Ideally educated CIPS Qualified, with a minimum of 3 years previous procurement expertise in procurement governance and best practice.

The role of Procurement Specialist is currently based a hybrid position working from home and the office with an expectation to be on site on a Tuesday plus one other day each week, with an annual salary of £27,000. Working in The Further Education sector requires the candidate to fit into a very busy team ensuring that the schools and all departments are assisted efficiently when reaching their goals. This takes tact and diplomacy, plus previous, relevant procurement/purchasing experience, ideally gained within the Public Sector or Local Authority. The main responsibilities will include providing a flexible and cost-effective procurement service across multi-channel departments, delivering specialist advice and guidance on procurement processes, exploring the needs of the customer base, ensuring procurement compliance in line with public body regulations plus the undertaking of procurement contract negotiations on behalf of the key stakeholders.

Ideally the candidate should have experience in IT procurement, but it is not critical. The role suits a candidate who can multi-task between various contracts, obtain information and share outcomes through effective communication channels with customers, stakeholders, suppliers, finance, and accounts. You will assist with all internal and external reporting on all procurement activities, support internal Audits, conduct supplier due diligence, highlight any potential risks and above all ensure that the quality of contract award remains costs effective, and results based.
