Job Description

Project Management career opportunity, working for a global manufacturer which engineers and installs telecommunications products and solutions to a wider range of customer markets. This is a permanent vacancy based in Swindon, with some UK travel and is offered at a salary of approx. £40k, with exceptional employee benefits. You will be responsible for the total management and control of multiple UK projects from initial contractual review, through to planning, installation, budgetary, environmental, H & S and final contract agreement and payment.

As a Project Manager, your immediate reports will include Field Engineers and a Project Engineer, with an oversight of contractors, suppliers and of course the customers. Due to the complexity of contracts and UK locations, there is a need to travel to meet customers, to review planned works, to assess work performance whilst conducting contract reviews. There is a need for clear, concise, and consistent communication with all parties, ensuring time lines are understood by all and that expectations are met in line with the initial contract agreement.

Due to the nature of work and products, you will be responsible for managing the installation of Aerial Fibre Optics Cables in a High Voltage environment and will include working at height. The need to execute strict Health and Safety Risk Assessments is key to this role and will expect you to manage such risks, manage site incidents and report and investigate any accidents in line with Health and Safety Regulations, therefore a knowledge of these processes is essential.

Your previous management career may will have been in a commercial services role, perhaps in the power utility market and/or construction industry. Previous working knowledge of managing contractors and sub-contracting would be highly advantageous due to the resourcing of staff and placement of skills.

As a Project Manager we are looking to recruit an experienced commercial manager, someone who can take responsibility with outstanding communication skills plus the ability to train, assess and review a wider team. This a great career opportunity and is best suited to an organised, professional and compliant candidate who is keen for the next career move.
