Job Description

Education Cover Supervisor required for a well-established college in Swindon. Working full time hours Monday to Friday, receiving full payment for 44 weeks but only needing to work during term time (39 weeks). Ideally seeking a candidate who can evidence previous employment history within the education. Sector, perhaps working with students in a learning capacity with exceptional communication skills when engaging with students of all ages. Educated to GSCE A-C in Maths and English as a minimum criteria with proven MS Office IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel) for written communication, able to help and relate to children and adults with proven interpersonal skills.

As an Education Cover Supervisor, you will work closely with the Cover Coordinator and Teachers assisting with covering core subjects, classes and groups in the absence of a Teacher, supervising an providing guidance and support to the students on a daily basis. The need to work in a professional and orderly manner, responding to student questions where required and offering encouragement and positive communication during each session.

Carrying out policies and procedures, promoting positive and constructive student participation, commending good behaviour whilst able to identify and manage any issues or concerns that arise through the appropriate channels and process. Helping with all administration, sending relevant emails to the Teachers and Heads of Department, providing written updates on class/session activities. Ideally Safeguarding and First Aid Trained with the welfare of students at the heart of everything that you do, undertaking ad-hoc duties which will include attending day's out with Students as and when required. You may have worked as a Teaching Assistant, or professionally supported children in day care/nurseries or similar, but looking to progress and develop your skills and experience gained within a similar educational setting.
