Job Description

Engineering Maintenance Manager, permanent full-time post working a day shift - Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work (when required) located in North Lanarkshire Scotland. Offered with a salary of £52,000 plus end of year performance related bonus scheme, further supported by an attractive employee benefits package, this position is suited to a qualified and experienced maintenance manager who can evidence a robust understanding of both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.

As a well-established, progressive UK manufacturing employer, significant investment has been made in a new facility in Scotland. One of your key objectives is to facilitate the move from the existing site, with the current maintenance team, to the new location, developing and using the PPM system (Pirana) for the new site. Reporting to the Senior Production Manager and wider stakeholder teams, you will evidence a 'hands on' approach to the task in hand, assisting with the arrangement of new processes and procedures, able to implement practical solutions and manage change.

As the Engineering Maintenance Manager, you will ideally be educated to HND Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years previous maintenance management experience gained in an automated/FMCG sector with previous staffing management abilities. Leading a team of engineers over a 3 shift work pattern requires excellent communication skills, plus practical knowledge and a forward thinking mind set when tackling change and new processes.

Ensuring that all planned and reactive maintenance tasks are conducted compliantly and efficiently with a keen eye on cost/budgetary and operational results, you will be responsible for the production of management reports, shared with senior management and able to demonstrate outcomes. You will provide information on machinery breakdowns, repairs and maintenance downtime, looking at continuous improvements across PLC systems, pneumatic and hydraulic machine maintenance and a range of mechanical and electrical equipment.

As the Engineering Maintenance Manager, you will have full accountability for training an development of your wider engineering team, working closely with production to ensure that all parties are aware of best engineering and manufacturing practice at all times. Responsible for site Health and Safety, you will be involved in conducting risk assessments and internal audits for the good of the business and its people.
