This world-class engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced machine shop/tooling operations manager to head up the sales operation here in Wiltshire. Ideally suited to a time served mechanical engineer who can demonstrate a deep understanding of CNC machining principles. This is a permanent, full time, office-based role offering an annual salary up to £55,000 plus £1300 annual travel allowance, plus a range of additional employee benefits.

Working in collaboration with the key stakeholders and wider production team, your primary responsibilities will include direct communication with UK and global customers who seek bespoke manufactured products used in the Aerospace, Defence and Automotive sectors, therefore we seek a professional and confident representative who can liaise at all levels, a confident person who understands the manufacturing journey from the initial customer requirement, to customer pricing, to shop floor production and final delivery.

Naturally, as machine shop/tooling operations manager, there is a consistent need to assess manufacturing quality and standards, working closely with production and quality teams to ensure first-class delivery of customer requirement. You will need to read and understand technical, manufacturing drawings, required when preparing and submitting customer orders, arranging, and attending key customer meetings, preparing, and presenting sales presentations whilst driving through new and increased business levels, supported by the technical design and finance teams.

As machine shop/tooling operations manager, you will have a good understanding of customer service level agreements, the ability to work through sales contracts, whilst assessing KPI's per individual customer requirement. This coupled with the need to manage the internal sales database and CRM systems, plus maintaining all verbal and written communication throughout the business is vital when delivering exceptional levels of customer service.
