Mechanical Design Engineer working in the MOD/Defence sector, required for a new permanent career opportunity in Swindon. Ideally educated to Mechanical Degree Level with the practical ability to support the design and development of mechanical systems. Seeking a candidate with a minimum of 3 years previous experience, this role is offered on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday with an annual salary of £41500 and a range of excellent employee benefits. Working for a global provider of outsourced engineering solutions to government and MOD organisations, reporting to the lead engineer, working in a multi disciplined team providing a range of support engineering and design services for engineering projects. You are responsible for performing a range of mechanical engineering tasks to include inspection of new plant equipment, producing detailed engineering specifications, devising initial design concepts and all general engineering duties.
As Mechanical Engineer you will have excellent working knowledge of all design and software packages especially AutoCAD, Solidworks and PDMS, competent in the use of engineering calculations software. There is a need to perform a range of engineering aspects from project inception to outcome, producing conditioning reports and ensuring that all work either minor or major are recoded in line with key client expectations. If you have previous work experience gained within the water and fuel supply/HVAC areas, and knowledge of Hevacomp/Bentley and Micro drainage would be an advantage.
