Thrive Group are recruiting for a Seamstress on a temporary to permanent basis, with a view to start immediately.
This position is located in Swindon.
This is a full-time position, working 09:00-17:00, Monday-Friday, paying £12.00 per hour.
Responsibilities of the role includes;
- Ensuring that sewing machines and other equipment are in good working order.
- Altering or repairing customers garments and other articles, which includes hemming, mending, lengthening, as well as taking in and letting out seams.
- Constructing garments and other articles and recording the alternations required.
- Using irons and pressing machines to erase the crease on the garments and other articles.
- To report any complaints, accidents, equipment malfunction, maintenance faults, suspicious persons, safety hazards or other incidents immediately to the supervisor or the duty Manager.
- To understand and follow all the objectives, standards, policies and procedures outlined by your Manager.
The successful candidates will:
- Previous experience as a seamstress or tailoring
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced atelier, working with a calm, positive and problem-solving attitude.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety standards.
- Ability to work with a variety of fabrics and materials, including delicate and high-end textiles.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
- Safety and legal compliance are a must.
