Senior Product Manager

Job Description

Senior Product Manager, permanent career opportunity for an experienced product manager who can evidence a solid employment history within product design, product ownership and product delivery. Your knowledge will include learning and development, and previous experience within educational or career development sectors. As this is a field-based role, you will be required to visit and develop relationships with UK wide customers, suppliers and business partners driving through new educational on-line assessment products and services in line with latest market trends and new age learning. Offering a salary of up to £55,000 plus enhanced employee benefits, this position offers variety, career progression and further educational development.

Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Educational Psychology or Business, you must demonstrate at least 5 years' experience spent in a similar environment, able to evidence previous successes within educational/instructional product management and/or UX design. You must be able to evidence strong project management experience combining Agile development methodologies, advanced knowledge of MS Office plus a broad understanding of IT related areas.

As the Senior Product Manager, you will work closely with the key stakeholders, instructional designers, educational assessment specialists and marketing professionals, therefore this requires a collaborative and positive approach when working in a team environment. The main objective is to assess, develop and deliver on a wide range of new and improved educational products and services. For this we need your previous experience of contract management, the compliance and due diligence of commercial agreements plus the ability to assess the viability of business cases. You will need originality, creativity, and vision to generate new and improved ideas, coupled with new strategies to develop profitable educational product lines with high return on investment.

The ability to take ownership of key projects from initial product vision, defining the overall strategy through to launch is key. Naturally inquisitive, constantly seeking new angles and approaches, through the understanding and appreciation of new and existing markets, conducting regular research and engagement with chosen professionals and organisations. The need to communicate product features and functions to multi-purpose teams, with an active interest in the entire product development lifecycle is a consistent requirement. To create and oversee the delivery of 'go to market' support, including materials and specific training, a keen eye on budgets and costings, the delivery schedules and the above all the needs of the customer are your key accountabilities. Due to the nature and scope, you will own and comply with government agenda's, set regulators, highly influential clients and the rigorous quality policies and procedures.

There is a need for travel both here in the UK and possibility on a global basis, with all expenses paid plus some weekend and unsociable hours working when meeting customers and suppliers.
