Thrive Group - Shepton Mallet are delighted to be working with our company based in Wincanton who are actively looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.
What you will be doing:
-Mechanical service, repair, replacement of: Motors, gearboxes, couplings, seals, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
-Electrical service, repair, replacement of: Motors, sensors, valves, control gear, VSDs, servos, instrumentation, power distribution systems, safety systems etc.
-Takes care of the electrical and mechanical settings, documenting them where possible.
-Performs certain measurements, adjustments, tests and calibrations.
-Identification and selection of suitable parts and spares for the task. Evaluates the possibility or the necessity of repairing or replacing components. Works with the parts coordinator to obtain and maintain stock levels and stores accuracy.
-Make suggestions and propositions to improve the installations and to increase plant availability, quality and safety.
-Gives technical support to operators.
-Supports the projects department in the implementation of new equipment, plant or services.
-Maintain control measurement equipment and weighing equipment.
-Respects Company policy concerning hygiene and safety during activities.
Skills & qualifications you will need to succeed:
-Building Services Experience: Boilers, air handling plant, refrigeration
-Use of a CMMS
-Food sector background
-Packaging machinery
-Complex control systems
-Accurate root cause analysis of breakdowns and effective corrective action carried out.
-Welding: Preferably TIG and Arc
-Reads and interprets Electrical & Mechanical schematics diagrams.
-Knowledge of different types of maintenance methodology; PPM, CBM, PM, TBM
Additional skills required (not essential):
-Electronic diagnostics and repair to board level
-PLC Programming
-Robotics
Salary: 42,000
