Thrive Oldham are recruiting on behalf of our well established client a Supply Planner for the Oldham area
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Each planner has a clear set of products assigned, for which he/she coordinates the supply chain with
Suppliers, Category Managers, Sales and Operations. The planner is responsible for the end to end
supply of products from supplier to either our Hub, branch network or direct to customer whilst meeting
required cost, inventory and supplier restrictions. Coordination includes finding solutions for customer
requests and resolutions for conflicting goals in gross margin, profitability and working capital. Timely
and factual escalation is an important skill for success.
* Manage portfolio of suppliers developing strong working relationships.
o Regular supplier meetings and reviews
* Purchase from suppliers contracted by Category Management and raise Purchase orders using SAP
o Combine material requirements into efficient purchases or according to Supplier's MOQ etc
o Balance the Purchase in relation to resulting inventory, supplier and transport restrictions
and commercial input on pricing/demand expectations/strategic positions (and escalate
where needed for valid decision making)
* Inventory management
* Manage your inventory in line with company specified Inventory level KPI's
* Improve availability and line fill in line with company specified Inventory level KPI's
* Ensure order books are managed effectively and system is up to date with latest information
* Communicate any delays in a timely and effective manner.
* Actively reduce IOS (Inactive, Obsolete, Surplus) in collaboration with other functions
* Actively reduce non-core stock to maintain healthy stock levels.
* Weekly meetings with Category managers and demand planning to review
* Service: Coordinate with other departments to achieve On Time In Full shipments to customers
* Investigate inbound inventory discrepancies
* Manage any invoice queries relating to your supplier portfolio.
* Escalation management and coordination (fast, clear and detailed communication to all
stakeholders)
* Continuous Process Improvement on planning processes linking to business requirements
* Improve/ liaise with suppliers to improve supply confirmation and delivery accuracy
* Manage inbound ocean freight where required.
* Perform other tasks as required, like managing (small) projects, supplier meetings, supply chain
analytics

Profile:
3 years of relevant working experience in planning with a good understanding of supply chain,
procurement and/or warehousing/distribution
SAP experience and MS Excel experience
Demonstrated customer service
Fluent in English
Distribution or FMCG experience is a plus
Analyzing skills
Strong communication skills, both in person and using Teams etc
Able to change and adjust in a fast-moving environment
Pay rate of £17 per hour PAYE
