Thrive Group - Shepton Mallet are delighted to be working with our company based in Wincanton who are actively looking to recruit a Technical Operative to join the team on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
* To stand in for the Team Leader, when necessary; during planned absence such as training and holiday.
* Work safely and maintain a safe, clean and tidy working environment, adhering to Safe working practice and the Company Hygiene policy.
* Adhere to and manage Food Safety practices, SOP's, HACCP controls and good manufacturing practice to ensure safe, high quality products.
* Improve all aspects of the department by individually contributing ideas and facilitating team activities.
* Ensure smooth running of the department by taking up tasks through request, experience or own initiative.
* Champion Company standards and provide a point of reference to others.
* Co-ordinate the day to day delivery of the operational plan.
* Identify and solve problems with the ability to direct colleagues towards solutions
* Carry out detailed changeover / handovers to enhance the departments performance
* Understand department and Company KPI's and co-ordinate activities to deliver and improve them
* Share your knowledge with others by supporting them to achieve the operating standards
* Co-ordinate / take responsibility for department projects and trials with your colleagues
* Operate and maintain a wide range of processes or a limited range in particular depth
* Complete relevant documentation in a timely, conscientious and accurate manner
Requirements:
* Good levels of written and spoken English
* Good level of numeracy
* Basic food hygiene
* Basic IT abilities
* A team player with great interpersonal skills
* Proven technical abilities within a food manufacturing environment
* Understanding of continuous improvement and able to support projects
Salary: £28894.94 (plus shoft allowance £1014)
Shifts: 39 Hours Weekly - Monday to Thursday 0600-1400
Friday 0600 - 1300
Monday to Thursday 1400-2200
Friday 1300-2000
