Automation Engineer

Thrive Group are delighted to be working with our marketing leading client in Frome, who are actively seeking to engage an Automation Engineer to join on a permanent basis.

What you will be doing:

As an experienced Automation Engineer, you will have overall responsibility for maintaining efficient operation of Site Automation (manufacturing).

  • Upgrade outdated automation equipment.
  • Develop automation specifications and functional analyses for industrial projects.
  • Manage contractors and engineers during projects.
  • Automation expertise to support the engineering team.
  • Monitor site automation.
  • On-call duties in rotation

What you will need to succeed:

  • Positive attitude and ability to collaborate well with the engineering team and all site departments
  • Subject matter expert in automation.
  • Experience working with Schneider equipment or Rockwell.
  • Managing automation projects
  • Experience in programming the SCADA system WONDERWARE would be beneficial.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience of Food industry would be beneficial.
  • Excellent fault finding and route cause analysis skills.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and legislation requirements.
  • Confident in autonomous decision making and team working
