Maintenance Engineer

Thrive Group are delighted to be working with our client in Trowbridge, who are actively seeking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join the company on a permanent basis.

What you will be doing:

As an experienced Maintenance Engineer you will be required to carry out the maintenance of vessels and manufacturing lines to run efficiently and continuously. In addition you will work towards the reduction of breakdown times by planning and executing PPM and correcting root cause.

  • Complete and taking accountability for maintenance activities (planned and unplanned), utilising Predictive / preventative measures to improve Asset OEE.
  • Support and promote continuous improvement activities to improve equipment reliability and ensure minimal equipment downtime.
  • Provide 'Breakdown' service to ALL operational departments, actively use 'Fault finding' techniques and lean methodologies (ie 5 Why's) to identify the RCA - and take responsibility to implement corrective actions.
  • Complete all necessary documentation regarding maintenance activities, including highlighting errors or bad practices and making suggestions for improvements either to systems or equipment, and take ownership for progressing required documentation.
  • Monitor and control spares in an efficient manner using companies procedures.
  • Drive improvements within the maintenance team to maximise efficiency within the Production and Maintenance departments to Lean the process, eliminating or reducing waste and/or non-value adding activities. .

What you will need to succeed:

  • Demonstrable expertise working within a FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced Multi-skilled engineer with a good understanding of electrical systems, controls, and automated systems.
  • Must have a positive, proactive and 'Solutions' driven mindset.
  • Technical qualifications and skills gained via a recognised apprenticeship scheme.
  • Minimum NVQ level 3 / HNC in one or more Engineering discipline
  • Proactive logical approach to problem solving utilising RCA and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Good knowledge of pneumatics, electro-pneumatic control systems.
  • Excellent IT skills.

What you will receive in return:

  • DAYS : Monday to Friday - 07.00AM to 15.00PM
  • LATES : Monday to Friday - 14.00PM to 22.00PM
  • NIGHTS : Monday to Friday - 22.00PM to 06.00AM
  • £35,000 to £45,000 per annum
